Qipao Size & Measuring Guide
How to Choose Your Qipao Size
A qipao is shaped closely around the bust, waist and hips, so accurate measurements are more reliable than your usual US or European clothing size. Always use the size chart shown on the individual product page because sizing varies between designs.

Measurements You Need
- Bust or chest: Measure around the fullest part while keeping the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
- Waist: Measure around your natural waist, usually the narrowest part of your torso.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat with your feet together.
- Shoulder width: Measure across the back from one shoulder point to the other.
- Height: Measure without shoes.
- Dress length: Measure from the top of the shoulder to your preferred hem position.
How to Compare With the Size Chart
- Choose the size that accommodates your largest body measurement.
- If your bust fits one size but your hips require the next size, choose the larger size.
- If you are between sizes, sizing up normally provides more comfort and room for alterations.
- Do not rely on S, M or L alone. Chinese and international size labels are not directly equivalent.
- Allow normal measuring tolerance and check whether the product description mentions a fitted or relaxed silhouette.
Fabric and Fit
Brocade, jacquard, velvet, satin, silk and polyester fabrics can all behave differently depending on weave, lining and construction. Unless a product specifically states that it is stretchy, choose your size as though the fabric has little or no stretch.
